Pursuant to the order of the United States District Court Judge William M. Conley dated April 2, 2020, the Town of Troy Municipal Board of Canvassers will convene on the 13th day of April 2020 at 4:01 P.M. to canvass the April 7, 2020 Preferential Preference and Spring Election absentee ballots and conduct the Municipal canvass if required.

The Town of Troy Town Hall will open at 4:01 pm to allow viewing of the Board of Canvass.

Board of Review

Notice that the Assessment Roll is open for Examination and Open Book

Open Book – Pursuant to s. 70.45, Wis. Stats., Notice is hereby given that the Assessor for the Town of Troy will be present on April 22, 2020 from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm. The assessment roll will be available at that time. To schedule an appointment with the assessor, please call 1-800-721-4157.


Notice of Board of Review Meeting

Board of Review – Notice is hereby given that the Board of Review for the Town of Troy shall take place on Tuesday, May 26, 2020 beginning at 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm. The Board of Review will take place at the Troy Town Hall, N8870 Briggs St., Troy Center, for the purpose of calling the Board of Review into session during the forty five day period beginning on the 4th Monday of April.


Pursuant to s. 70.47 (1), Wis. Stats.


   No person shall be allowed to appear before the board of review, to testify to the Board by telephone or to contest the amount of any assessment of real or personal property if the person has refused a reasonable written request by certified mail of the assessor to enter onto property to conduct an exterior view such property being assessed.


   After the first meeting of the board of review and before the board’s final adjournment, no person who is scheduled to appear before the board of review may contact or provide information to a member of the board about the person’s objection except at a session of the board.


   No person may appear before the board of review, testify to the board by telephone, or contest the amount of any assessment unless, at least 48 hours before the first meeting of the board, or at least 48 hours before the objection is heard if the objection is allowed under s.70.47 (3) (a), Wis. stats., that person provides to the clerk of the board of review notice as to whether the person will ask for the removal of a member of the board of review and, if so, which member, and provides a reasonable estimate of the length of time the hearing will take.  


   When appearing before the board of review, the objecting person shall specify in writing the person’s estimate of the value of the land and of the improvements that are the subject of the person’s objection and specify the information that the person used to arrive at that estimate.


  No person may appear before the board of review, testify to the board by telephone, or object to a valuation if that valuation was made by the assessor or the objector using the income method; unless the person supplies the assessor with all the information about income and expenses, as specified in the assessor’s manual under s. 73.03 (2a), that the assessor requests. The municipality or county shall provide by ordinance for the confidentiality of information about income and expenses that is provided to the assessor under this paragraph and shall provide exceptions for persons using the information in the discharge of duties imposed by law or of the duties of their office or by order of a court. The information that is provided under this paragraph, unless a court determined that it is inaccurate, is not subject to the right of inspection and copying under s. 19.35 (1),

Open Book

Open Book is scheduled for April 22, 2020 from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm. Due to the stay at home order from the Governor, The Assessor will not be conducting in person open book meetings at Municipal Halls. 




The Assessor is only conducting Open Book meetings by phone, email or internet video conferencing (Zoom application) rather than conducting in person meetings for your safety. Please call the assessor during their regular business hours (Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM). You may call anytime after receiving your assessment notice, but no later than 3 days prior to the Board of Review to conduct your Open Book meeting.

If the assessor is not available at the time of your call, they will make every effort to return your call within 24 hours. When leaving a message please provide your name, phone number, the Municipality in which the property is located, and the Tax Key Number from your assessment notice or tax bill.

Troy Center Fire Department Cancels Annual Spaghetti Dinner and Street Dance

It is with deepest regrets that due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we have determined it is everyones interest to cancel both the Spaghetti Dinner and Street Dance.

With the cancellation of these events, we will still proceed with our Annual Gun Raffle. If you have any questions or would like to purchase tickets, please call Tim Cooper at (414)236-1408.

Town of Troy

As the situation keeps evolving with the Covid-19 virus, we will be making preventative changes to our office availabilty as of April 13, 2020. The Clerk’s office will be closed to walk-in business until further notice. Please call the Clerk at (262)642-5292 to set up an appointment or to ask questions. Please use the drop box located at the entrace, for dog licenses, water bills and building permits. For larger packages, please call the clerk at the above number.

If an in person appointment is needed, the Clerk has been instructed to take the visitors temperature before entering the building. Anyone with a temp of 100 dgrees or higher will be asked to not enter the building.
